Celestion Greenback
The Greenback (G12M) has always been a good choice for the Blues Junior. It’s a bit quieter than some of the newer designs, but the classic, warm British tone is there in spades. This is the speaker that defined “smoky,” that coloration of midrange tones sought after by blues and blues rock soloists. A classic.

I use a Greenback in my Blues Junior, and it is a perfect match, in my opinion. It doesn't affect the volume of the amp relative to the stock speaker. It definitely *does not* tighten up the bass. For a tight bass, look elsewhere (maybe a G12H-30 for vintage style, or something else entirely for big modern bass handling). The Greenback has a loose, reedy, warm, snappy tone and response. It is my favorite speaker.
