Designed for studio heavyweight and Jazz great, Howard Roberts, the Fusion model is one of the more elegant and purpose driven archtops produced by Gibson and a real piece of art in its blend of functionality and style.
The semi-hollowbody laminate maple construction has a chromyte center block and maple neck for a tone that is immediate, clear and articulate.
Boasting a pair of Gibson’s 490R and 490T humbuckers, the tone has the sweetness and sparkle of alnico magnets with an overall quality that can only be described as “classic Gibson.”
The Howard Roberts Fusion is a guitar ideally tailored for the stage and studio.
The maple neck has a medium C profile with a traditional 1 11/16″ nut width, bound ebony fretboard and stock fretwire.
The intonation is solid and the guitar plays cleanly up the neck with low, comfortable action.
On the headstock, the guitar sports a set of Gibson branded tuning machines with flawless gold plating and metal tulip buttons.
On the face, the cleanly inlayed pearloid crown, Gibson logo and “Howard Roberts Fusion” truss rod cover top off the understated, elegant look.
The guitar is notable both for its generous cutaway and also unique control placement.
A Nashville Tune-o-Matic bridge and “Finger” tailpiece complete the body hardware and this instrument is notably clean cosmetically, with gold plating.Good condition, just some finish checking here and there and wear on the hardware
