Seems I am far too late to the party...

Thank you for all information about Hellcat amp you have shared here. It's been very informative and inspiring to read.

I have been working on my clone for some times now, and it took me more time than I planed... but that's how learning process goes.
I made a smaller 'light' version with only two output tubes, and no reverb, using different (Hammond) transformers. After sorting out some issues, it was OK, but different sounding, as I expected. I wont lie that I wasn't chasing the same sound vibe the original has, well, somehow this whole enthusiastic episode was kind of experimenting, learning and testing... let me see what can I do with parts I allready have around. Hope this make some sense

Recently I'm working on a real clone, ordered original transformers from Transformer equipment Ltd. England, boards are ready... finger crossed

I would like to ask for a help here about chassis dimensions\layout. It is been mentioned earlier in this tread but haven't found any link or attachment.

If anyone would like to share it, that would be awsome.

Yes Im gonna build the head as close as possible to the original, maybe different finish colour and the letters, that is not important to me, but I would like to preserve original topology, positions and distances between parts, holes, etc. Hope for getting narrow tolerances and suppose a couple off millimeters wont make drastic differences in functionality (noises, interferences... drugged gremlins)

If you allready have some usable scatches, hand drawings, dimesnsion marks, that are accurate... or at least some refference points to scale the rest, let me know, I could try to use it and save your time.

Ты тогда мне их в MS-Word прислал. Не самая лучшая программа для черчения, однако 
Собственно я уже взялся их перевести в более понятный формат. Панели отрисовал уже. Так что через пару дней выложу сюда

I have some doubts about transformers.

The mains transformer is: TECM 201 B (used for Hellcat, MK 50 and Roadhouse). This one is ok.

But, I have been told by a nice guy from Transformer Eq. Ltd that they have two different output transformers for Hellcat, and advised me it would be good to check what model I need.

TECL 463 A – earlier model, used also for the Roadhouse too

TECL 463 B – later model, modified („slight turn change“ he said)

Unfortunately, he doesn’t have reference what was the year of modification (that info would be helpful to me, I'm cloning Gunter's 2006 version), only that Mr. Kidd called about it. I was honest and explained to him that I'm not replacing but building a clone. That was OK to him too, but he could not explain why Mr. Kidd asked for modification and what specific impact this have to amp functionality. He didn't offer me any datasheet to compare each to another.

This is beyond my knowledge so I could only speculate about it. I thought at first about some impedance tweak, then something about negative feedback (earlier models do not have) but that seems negligible...

What OT model do you have in your builds?

Anyone who knows something more detailed about that modiffication?

Shrila has an original hellcat and maybe he will be able to clarify which transformer is installed in his amplifier.

In my Hellcat, there are no markings on the transformers.
