- Hey guys. thought this may be interesting to some of you. I got to spend a month with these dudes, so I got a good idea of what every band was using. I didn't get much on bass stuff, since that is not my forte, but here are the guitar rigs used by each band.
Suffocation
Terrance:
- 5150 II. Boosted with a Maxon OD. Tight, Fat, Crushing tone every night.
- Custom Vader cabs with the Suffocation logo badge on front and embossed on the back. Loaded with non-specified Eminence speakers. These things were all about mids and low end. Probabaly the fattest sounding tones i have ever heard, but these cabs did NOT like my Friedman much. Too honky. I used them a few nights when time was an issue. With the right amp... like a 5150, these things were incredible. Sometimes they used 1 and bigger stages used 2 (side by side). they had a total of 4, but never actually used the top cab when all 4 were used.
- Terrance doesn't use much effects. Boss Noise Gate, Maxon OD and an H9 for some warbly effects.
- Of course he used his custom BC Rich Warlocks.
Charlie:
- Amp and cab same as Terrance
- Decimator Gate and Helix Stomp for effects (which really was just a touch of mid boost and delay for solos)
- ESP MII and LTD Black Metal "Strat"
