G12T-75 is the stock speaker in Marshall 1960s. They have a razor sharp top end that many people complain about.... I think it's because they were designed to work with loud yet dark amps; modern amps are much brighter and if you feed those speakers too much gain they slice your head off.
I've also heard the older 75s didn't have the harsh top end that the newer ones have. I have a set of the Man-O-Wars in a 4x12, and they sound great with my Electric (darkly voiced Brit style amp), but they sound like ass with my Rockerverb 50 (brighter, modern Brit high gain style amp).
