In a world of look and sound alike guitars the Californian is a standout: radical styling and unique features for the way you play. We begin with a single piece of light weight Honduras mahogany, the finest of tone woods. A single piece is used to assure that each instrument will speak with a resonance that cannot be achieved by a neck through design. The Californian's bolt on neck is carved from rock maple, and its exquisite rosewood fingerboard is fretted with twenty-seven frets on a 25.5" scale (ebony fingerboard with boomerang inlays also available). To match the Californian's extended range, it can be fitted with either
Slammer or OBL pickups. Single coil type at the neck, humbucking at the bridge. A unique output jack location directs your cord upward along the bottom edge of the guitar, directly to your wireless, or ready to loop over your strap without any excess cord length to obstruct your performance. Because the Californian was designed for flat out performance, the locations of both the volume and pickup controls have been thoroughly thought out. The volume control is within easy reach when your hand is in the picking position, yet not so close as to interfere with violent chording. The pickup selector switch is placed at precisely the proper angle to correspond with your hand movement, and is moved back and away from the tremolo where it cannot be removed accidentally. From the highest notes to the lowest growls, the Californian speaks with a unique authority unmatched by mass produced instruments.
