чел поиграл на оригинальном LP 59 "Goldie" и сравнил со своим Goldie Collector's Choice
I had the amazing opportunity to spend time playing the real 1959 STD Les Paul, "Goldie". The good folks at Rumble Seat Music in Monterey Ca were so great to me. Most owners won't let you photograph their guitar let alone touch it, let alone PLAY it! They plugged me into a beautiful 1960's Super Lead Marshall full stack!!!! I kept pinching myself. Am I really holding this!?! Am I really being encouraged to crank one of the most beautiful, renowned 1959 Les Pauls through a full stack!? Where's Paul Rogers? I might as well finish this dream!?! Such a magical, important event in my life.
Now, I've owned a lot of Gibson Historic LP's, one that I owned was CC#2 Goldie. I studied my CC#2 pretty well, so it was an eye-opener to sit down with the real thing! The best analogy I can come up with is, if you've ever been to Disneyland, and you go to Frontierland or Jungleworld or somewhere, It's all looks so "produced" fake. It looks so forced and obvious. When you get close you kind of think"That's the fake-est palm tree I've ever seen"! That's how it seemed to me. The color was way off, the neck was way off, the aging was such a dumbed-down version of the original guitar. Where on my CC#2, there is a good size divet on the back of the neck, on the real guitar, it's a more a large sliver or small gash, not a large rip! Just like Disneyland, the historic's aging is all done with broad strokes, no subtlety. The finish checking on the real Goldie was all throughout the top, on the CC#2, there was a bit just below the tailpiece and some straight lines here and there.
