A good copy of a Gibson 335 except the pup switch is on the upper horn and the input on the side which is better and the neck joins at the 15th fret more like a Casino.

2003 Made in Indonesia model. Changed the pickups out to 57 classic and classic plus. Sound is rich and full through a 59 Bassman Reissue. Unfortunately, the neck tends too loosen up and creak a bit. Very unstable neck joint. Glue is NOT a good idea and it's just not worth installing inserts, etc. for a guitar with almost no resale value.
Action, Fit, & Finish : 1
Set up from factory and pickups had to be replaced. Neck joint is unstable and has loosened up a few times over the past three years which totally blows the set up which has to be redone. Finish contained small bubbles but not to noticeable. IF the neck had been more stable this could have been a great player.

The guitar that I bought would not withstand playing live 2-3 times a week. Even with a good case and babying, the neck joint would loosen and have to be retightened which required a new set up and also eventuallly created a rising tounge situation in the higher frets. In year 3 it was pretty much worn out and not worth installing inserts, etc. If it won't stay in proper intonnation then it's not a musical instrument anymore. What a shame because it had great tone and a fast neck. Obviously the manufacturer knew about this because I found wads of cotton shoved up in the lower horn/cutaway---I can only assume a cheap fix to muffle the creaking when the neck moves in that hollow body! Wow! Dirty Deeds Done Cheap!

No real help here. They state it's a detachable neck and you can just set it up again and again and again.....Oh and set-ups are not warranted. Who has time for this? Set it and forget it except for an occassional string change.

It was a great player when new and a great deal at $149.99 but if the neck would not stay stable then it could not stay in my stable. I sold it to a shop for $59 (Orion Blue Book) after putting the original pickups back in it and applied the money to a new Washburn HB30 with a set neck for $199.00 via the internet. The HB30 is a better player but made in China and required a lot of work to bring it up to par as well as peeling chrome that Washburn would not help with. Cosmetics are excluded from their warranty--even on new stuff! At least this one shouldn't have the neck wobbling around on it! Might want to stay away from Washburn and Oscar Schmidt in the future.
