Вот не зитрым поиском нашел такое:
I was inder the impression that Carvin were USA made gutiars, when someone mentioned they are nothing more than an import Cort with a Carvin headstock. Then looking at the websites I found these:
***
Carvin advertises that the Cobalt line is imported. Most guitars from Korea are either Cort or Samick. I think the Carvins are made by Cort-however they are usually made by the lowest bidder. Both of those companies can make excellent guitars, and pure junk. Judging from Cobalt owners, they are a great bang for the buck value. Cort makes custom acoustics with identical specs. as the best Martins for about 1/3 of the price. I'm not saying they are equal to, or better, than a Martin, Taylor, or other major brand, but they are definitely worth consideration. My Cort bass exceeds my requirements at less than 1/3 the price of a US Fender P or J. If you play an Epiphone, B.C. Rich, Ibanez, Squier, Spector, Schecter, Washburn, Lakland, and a host of others, you're playing a Cort or a Samick.

Интересно в этой связи, чотбы pimmelmann раскрыл свои источники знание я про карвинов-корейцев ,которые он упоминал в комерсе (
