"Шестнадцатый по счету альбом Ринго Старра (Ringo Starr) «Y Not», в котором экс-битл впервые выступает продюсером, вышел 12-го января. Его записью Ринго занялся почти сразу после релиза в 2008 году лонгплея Liverpool 8. «Я сидел дома в Лос-Анджелесе и в голову не приходило ничего лучшего, как что-то начать делать,- вспоминает музыкант.- Я создавал треки и смотрел, что получилось. Это забавное занятие. Когда музыки набралось достаточно, начал звонить приятелям. Как правило, я проигрывал пару композиций и говорил: «Хочу написать с тобой песню, выбирай любой из треков». Вот так мы начали работу».
Экс-битл считает, что в создании нового альбома «Y Not» ему во многом сопутствовала удача. Особенно это заметно по звездному составу исполнителей, которых ему удалось привлечь к записи альбома в качестве гостей.
Список соавторов песен альбома и участников записи включает известные всему миру имена: Пол Макккартни, Джо Уолш (Joe Walsh), Джосс Стоун (Joss Stone), Бен Харпер (Ben Harper), Ван Дайк Паркс (Van Dyke Parks), Дон Воз (Don Was), а также группу All Starr Band, в которую входят Эдгар Уинтер (Edgar Winter), Билли Сквайр (Billy Squier), Гэри (Gary Wright) и Ричард Маркс (Richard Marx). «Большинство из них имеют свои идеи, поэтому предложения «Давай попробуем это» звучали неоднократно»,- говорит Ринго.
Первоначально предполагалось, что Пол Маккартни исполнит только партию бас-гитары в треке «Peace Dream», но затем Пол предложил спеть дуэтом с Ринго «Walk With Me»."

The seventh album from Texan indie rockers, Spoon, follows in a similar vein to it's critically acclaimed predecessor, 2007's 'Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga'. It was the large success of 'Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga' that led to the long gestation period of 'Transference', as the band dealt with their new popularity. Spoon's sound includes elements of rock, indie and post-punk, with many critics comparing their sound to bands like The Pixies and Wire. Transference is preceded by the single 'Written In Reverse'.
