matt, I'm curious. how did you manage to leave the country? I know it's hard for an immigrant to get a
residence permit in the US, and renting a flat in washington means saying bye-bye to a considerable
amount of bucks, right? so how in the bloody hell did you manage to make living there only playing
music? or, were you that good that somebody has bought you right from samara?
I managed to get a parole status, but still,it took me 3 years to get in the country.Telling the details would be worthless 'cause everything has changed since September 11.
I'm happy to say, that me and my wife are not renting anymore,we bought an apartment in Alexandria VA(10 minute drive from downtown DC)4 months ago.Now ,how do I make a living?I play gigs(mostly jazz(violin))and teach guitar(~10 to 15 students depending on a season),and I also have a steady gig playing guitar at this black church on Sundays, which is a lot of fun,and I do some studio work both on violin and guitar,so,as you can see,I do a lot of things and it's not easy, but I love what I'm doing and I'm proud of it too and if it means being a poser for you, guys, then I'm very glad to be one, hell, yeah!
P.S.About being good.I think I can play some guitar,I'm definetely not a virtuoso,but then again it's my second instrument(hobby,that's why I'm on this forum)),in a word,see for yourself,go to my personal folder on guitarfiles.net
