why do you think that there can't be masterpieces evermore?

Where did you get this from?You sad you've read the topic two times,apparently,you were not paying much attention to what you were reading.

So, You think, the music of these days, has it masterpieces or no?

I think that nothing really major or ground breaking had happened in any music style in last 20-25 years.And,trust me,I've listened(and still listening)to a lot of stuff,regardless of style.In my opinion some interesting things are happening right now in middle eastern music,but still,I don't know if we're gonna hear any "masterpieces" anytime soon.
All I can say is that so called "rock music" is definitely not the most happening musical area these days

2matt: my opinion differs from your direct opositely. As for me, masterpiece is a fusion of great work and emotional expression which makes to return to it again and again. I can list a lot of such results of this fusion almost in every style of music: rock, hip-hop, electronic etc. Even more, such styles as psy, goa, trance arose not long ago...

what can be ground breaking? long time ago this was rock'n'roll... I think hip-hop, rave and psy trance are so too... Today hip-hop is cultural area that contains rap, breaking, graffitti
