The device crams in hundreds of effects and emulations within its sleek, lightweight aluminium chassis. It’s powered by Hotone’s Comprehensive Dynamic Circuit Modeling High Definition and Field Impulse Response Enhancement systems, which the brand claims deliver a more “vivid, accurate and expressive” sound.
Here are the details we know so far:
The soundsBesides almost 300 effects culled from the XTOMP and Hotone library, the Ampero features models of iconic pedals, mic simulations and placements, as well as 64 amp and 60 cab emulations. Up to nine effects modules can be engaged simultaneously, and a total of 198 presets can be saved.
Additionally, the floor unit packs a built-in drum machine and looper – the former has 100 patterns, and the latter lets you record overdubs of up to 120 seconds each.
The controlsWhen it comes to the controls, the Ampero is simple and streamlined. It has an expression pedal, four footswitches, three assignable knobs, a master volume control, and a dial to navigate menus and adjust values.
Besides, the Ampero has a four-inch, 800×480 color touchscreen that more than makes up for its modest tactile controls. With it, you’ll be able to easily and quickly choose effects, set up a signal chain and save presets.
The I/OsOn the back of the Ampero, you’ll find an array of inputs and outputs that should suffice for most guitarists: an adjustable input for electrics, acoustics and line-level instruments, 1/4-inch stereo outputs, two balanced XLR outputs, a MIDI input, a headphone output, an aux in, and a jack to hook up another expression pedal. There’s also a USB port for managing effects via your computer and for using the Ampero as an audio interface.
The Ampero is expected to retail for about

Advanced CDCM HD and F.I.R.E. Modeling Systems
Driving Ampero is Hotone’s innovative CDCM HD (Comprehensive Dynamic Circuit Modeling High Definition) and F.I.R.E. (Field Impulse Response Enhancement) system. Built on Hotone’s powerful XTOMP platform, acclaimed Binary series, and breakthrough VStomp Amp virtual plugin, the new-gen CDCM HD & F.I.R.E. system showcases Hotone’s new high-shelf circuit modeling methods.
Mainstream modeling methods are generally based on static state circuitry modeling or “black box” theory, which just “come close” to the modeled sound. CDCM HD & F.I.R.E. employs a complex system based on dynamic feature modeling. In this matrix, the technology “rebuilds” the entire circuitry using modeled electronic components, resulting in a tone that is vivid, accurate and expressive. More than that, the new system enhances the relationship between amps and PA systems, delivering a realistic feel and response you’ve never before experienced on digital gear.

The NXP® RT series crossover co-processor runs on the ARM® Cortex®-M7 core. The co-processor not only helps processing audio streams, but also powers the touch screen display, USB I/O, and other functions.
